After the press conference, my initial plan was to have a quick nap before the party. However, I couldn’t resist the calling of local Penang delights so few of us went for a little trip to fill our hungry tummies. I have not been to Penang for more than 5 years so I did appreciate the change of scenery.
When the clock ticked over 6.30pm, we gathered at G Hotel’s lobby and were brought to SPICE (former PISA) by bus. It sure was a very noisy ride filled with our excitement. Most of us were camera ready and by the time we arrived at the venue.

We were there with ample time to have our photos taken at pretty much every corner. Walking in, we were greeted by the signature Black and Red hues and of course, the Hennessy V.S.O.P. Long Drinks were already flowing. As usual I went for my favourite Hennessy Soda.

Like previous year, there are many interesting ‘stations’ to occupy our time, and the crowd favourite would have to be the Fotobox for capturing our “Hennessy Moments”. The photographers were kept busy as well and my favourite phrase of the night was the “Kelly Sandwich”

The delectable Julie Woon was our emcee for the night as well, and she sure looked extra sexy in her skin tight dress.

She did a fabulous job as an Emcee and really got the crowd going wild even before the party started. We were invited to go into our respective zones and I must say that it felt great to be right in front of the stage. Unlike previous years where I could only squint at the artists this time we were able to even make eye contacts!

The artists were able to chill and enjoyed a drink or two before their respective sets. Well except for 24HERBS who performed the first set.

To be honest I’ve never heard their music until then, but they did make a great impression during the Press Conference. Their performance was just like their personalities, colourful, energetic, a tiny bit on the naughty side. Miss Alexis Chean, Astro Star Quest champion came out to sing a song with them too. The combination of Canto/English rap is refreshing and they got us in stitches with the cheeky song “Hu Ge”. I shall leave you to find out what it’s about.

The next set was the most anticipated DJ Andy Murphy. But before that another surprise for us: Dennis Lau the violinist played Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” with Andy on the deck, and Alexis Chen reappeared on the stage later to finish the song.

Andy Murphy went on to play an astounding set of EDM and Big Room tunes for the next hour, setting the momentum of the night with pulsating beats and fist-pumping drops to get our adrenaline pumping.

By the time DJ Nicole Chen started playing her set, we were all pretty warmed up with our Hennessy drinks and our dance moves. Famous for her House and Dirty Dutch style set, she got the crowd going wild. The energy was pulsaing through the air it was hard to miss. Needless to say, all the sets gel-ed very well together and it was one epic party with over 2000 guests having the time of our lives.

To encourage responsible partying, there were chill-out zone set up for the guests to recharge before leaving the party, complimentary mineral water given out through the night, and subsidized taxi rates to discourage drink driving.
Well, we can now look forward to the next H-Artistry event of 2013 in November, but meanwhile my liver is in need of some TLC. Thank you H-Artistry for the fabulous night and G2PR for a job well done. If you want to join the next party, do head over to Hennessy Malaysia’s Facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/HennessyMalaysia or www.h-artistry.com.my to keep yourself updated.
Many thanks to the G Hotel for hosting us too. I had a pretty good sleep and ended up missing the breakfast buffet, which only means one thing: I will be back!
