Sanzaru Izakaya & Bar Bukit Jalil

Hi! My name is Tiga and I’m a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! I’m sorry if my cuteness is too much to handle but I hope that caught your attention!

I would like to introduce my sweet baby boy who has been with us for more than a year now. Our lives revolve mostly around him nowadays. And with that, we dived deep into the world of Pet friendly establishments. Yes, we have become that kind of pawrents. Visiting pet cafes became a norm but we constantly seek out restaurants that will allow our whole family to dine. So here’s a new category of review I can blog about!

There’s no denying we love our Japanese food and fortunately there are quite a number of them around us that allow pets. Today I’ll like to talk about Sanzaru Izakaya, a popular joint located in Bukit Jalil so we don’t even have to travel far! We go there quite often, both during lunch and dinner time. It tends to get quite packed during dinner time and sometimes you even hear Karaoke blasting out of VIP rooms playing some Boyband songs (well sometimes it’s Beyond). But it’s their lunch menu that is really make our time worthwhile. You basically pick a main dish and add on as many sides as you like at a fraction of the price.

During the last visit we ordered Beef Shogayaki (RM18.90) along with a few sides.

The first side we ordered was of course the onsen egg.

Instant upgrade of the dish! They do this quite well here with tender beef and just enough seasoning. Of course, we committed a crime: we couldn’t finish one portion of rice between the two of us. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not good, we just choose not to consume too much carbs.

This is also available as a side for just RM10! We ordered 2 plates of these and that’s plenty for the 3 of us. Yes, Tiga had some too! The Sashimi here is decent, perfect thickness and fresh too. Not pictured was a plate of Edamame, for just RM4!

This dish is not included in the lunch special but we always order it whenever we are at Sanzaru. The first time we ordered it, the staff explained to us that the Squid fried in butter and its own juice, and the taste is on the heavy and fishy side so it might not be for everyone. We tried it and fell in love! Look at the gorgeous dark sauce. Super addictive!

The ala carte menu actually have quite a selection and they offer quite a lot of meat heavy dishes which is perfect for us. I highly recommend their Buta Kakuni too. Drinks there are reasonably priced. Service can be a little bit of hit and miss depending who is available to serve you, some of them do have limited English. There is also another branch in Ara Damansara that has the same menu too.

Lastly, another pic of ultra cuteness!
